Vijay Eswaran: Multimarket Tycoon With a Taste For Philanthropy and Writing

Vijay Eswaran is a successful Malaysian businessman and is currently the Executive Chairman of the QI Group. The headquarters of the QI Group is in Hong Kong. In 2011, Forbes declared him as one of the 48 “Heroes of Philanthropy.”

Vijay was born on October 7, 1960, in Penang, Malaysia to Vijayaratnam Saravanamuthu, an employee of the Malaysian Ministry of Labor and Pushpavathy Chinnaiah, a teacher. In his childhood, he had to travel a lot because of his father’s job.

He received his degree in Socio – Economics from the London School Of Economics on 1984. After his graduation, Vijay stayed back in Europe for a year. During one year he was busy in carrying out odd jobs like plucking grapes in France, cab driving in London, etc., He became interested in the Binary System Marketing and thus obtained a professional qualification from CIMA. He also gained his MBA degree from the Southern Illinois University later in 1986.

Vijay had a little stint in the field of multilevel marketing while he was working part time in Synaptics, U.S. However, he then took multilevel marketing seriously after being a part of the Cosway Group, Philippines. When he finally returned to Asia in 1998, Vijay co-founded a multilevel marketing company which is now known as QI Group. The company is a giant e-commerce conglomerate with businesses in travel, media, telecom, luxury products, fitness, wellness, training and corporate investments. The company has regional offices in Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia. QI Group is expanded to about ten countries all over the world.

Vijay Eswaran is an excellent speaker and gives speeches on management and business mantras. He has spoken in the sixth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in India. He has also spoken at the World Economic Forum. Vijay has also authored many books. He published his first book namely In the Sphere Of Silence in 2005. In the book, he mainly discusses the management of personal life and how he starts each day of his life with an hour of silence and reflective contemplation. His interactive program called Thought of the Day is also very popular. He has written other books like In the Thinking Zone, 18 Stepping Stones and On the Wings of Thought.
